Lecture on Developing Effective Mentorship Practices in Health Professional Education
A lecture on Developing Effective Mentorship Practices in Health Professional Education was held at Dental College HITEC-IMS on 3rd February 2026, organized by the Mentoring Committee. The session aimed to strengthen mentoring skills, enhance student engagement, and ensure continuity in mentorship programs.
The event was attended by Professor Dr. Irfan Shah, Principal Dental College; Dr. Shazana Rana, Associate Dean Basic Sciences and Incharge Mentoring Programme; and mentors from both medical and dental colleges. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Nausheen Ashraf, Assistant Coordinator Mentoring Programme.
The guest speaker, Mr. Maaz Ahmed, clinical psychologist and lecturer at the University of Wah, shared insights on effective mentoring, discussing mentor–mentee roles, benefits, challenges, and practical strategies, with emphasis on empathy, communication, and consistency. Faculty actively participated in discussions and a Q&A session.
The lecture concluded with reflections by the Principal, followed by the presentation of a shield to the guest speaker as a token of appreciation.
