IMECON 2026 – CPSP Pre-Conference Workshop

The CPSP Pre-Conference Workshop titled “Leadership, Governance, and Strategic Management in Medical Education” was successfully conducted on 22 January 2026 at Dental College, HITEC-IMS, as part of IMECON 2026. It was a matter of great honor for the institution to facilitate two pre-conference workshops, both of which were conducted with excellence and received highly positive feedback.
The workshop aimed to enhance faculty understanding of leadership concepts, governance structures, and strategic management within medical education institutions. The sessions were highly engaging, interactive, and practice-oriented, fostering active participation throughout the day.
The workshop commenced with an insightful session by Brigadier Javed Hashmi, Director, HITEC-IMS Medical College, who laid a strong conceptual foundation on leadership and governance in medical education.
This was followed by an address from Dr. Irfan Shah, Principal, Dental College, HITEC-IMS, who emphasized the importance of effective leadership in academic institutions.
An impactful session was delivered by Brigadier Dr. Nadir Sulaiman from National Defence University (NDU), who shared valuable perspectives on leadership practices and strategic thinking.
Dr. Turab Fatima conducted an interactive talk on challenges of leadership, encouraging reflection and discussion.
Leadership styles were discussed by Dr. Ayesha Saeed, whose facilitation enhanced participant engagement. She also supported organization of the workshop.
The concluding session by Dr. Fatima Rizwan introduced the Medical Leadership Competency Framework (MLCF) and facilitated hands-on activities including leadership hat activity, role plays, and clarity challenge. Overall, the workshop was highly interactive, well-structured, and received excellent feedback.
