Reaching Out, One Smile at a Time: Two-Day School Dental Camp Drive
The Department of Community Dentistry, Dental College HITEC-IMS, held a two-day free dental camp on 15th–16th September 2026 at Allama Iqbal Public High School, Wah Cantt, and Scholars Science School, reaching close to 900 school children in total.
Children were screened for common oral health issues, including dental caries, gingival problems, and malocclusion/orthodontic concerns, with those needing further care referred to HITEC-IMS Dental Hospital for treatment at discounted rates. Alongside screening, students took part in hands-on oral health education sessions covering proper brushing and flossing techniques using dental models.
Both camps were led by faculty of the Department of Community Dentistry, under the leadership of Dr. Maria Rabbani, Head of Department, with support from 2nd-year BDS students and House Officers. The initiative gave students valuable community-based clinical exposure while promoting preventive oral healthcare among school children.
Both schools welcomed the initiative and voiced strong support for continued community dental outreach.
