KCDCON’26 Research Poster Competition

On 2nd May 2026, Khyber College of Dentistry organized the Research Poster Competition as part
of its International Research Conference, KCDCON’26. HITEC Dental College, Taxila proudly
participated in this prestigious event through two student research teams, representing the
institution with dedication and academic excellence. The first team comprised

Fatima Hafeez
Afrah Ashraf, under the supervision of Dr. Sameen Zehra.
Their research poster, titled “Association of Awake Bruxism with Tooth Wear and Occupational
Stress Among Mechanical and Non-Mechanical Workers”, highlighted the relationship between
occupational stress, bruxism, and oral health.
The second team included
Filza Haider
Fatima Manzoor
and Muniba Younus, supervised by Dr. Azka Haroon.
Their poster, titled “Prevalence of Periodontal Diseases in Different Trimesters of Pregnancy
Attending Ante-Natal Clinic”, focused on the significance of periodontal health during pregnancy
The successful preparation of both posters was made possible through the continuous guidance
and support of Dr. Maria Rabbani, Patron Research Cell (BDS), whose mentorship greatly
contributed to the students’ academic efforts.
Participation in KCDCON’26 provided the students with valuable exposure to scientific research,
enhanced their presentation skills, and broadened their professional insight. Representing HITEC
Dental College at an international research platform was a significant achievement, reflecting the
college’s strong commitment to fostering research culture and academic excellence.
