Awareness and Practical Applications of Forensic Dentistry
A formal lecture on the topic “Awareness and Practical Applications of Forensic Dentistry” was conducted on 8th April 2026 at HITEC Institute of Medical Sciences (HITEC-IMS) Dental College. The session was organized Oral pathology Department.
The Session was conducted by Dr Khadija Shoaib, Demonstrator Oral Pathology Department and it started with the recitation of Surah Al-duha by Musfira Adnan. The lecture was delivered by guest speaker Dr Amber Khan (BDS, MF Dent (UK), CHPE, PhD Scholar, Brazil) a distinguished academician and researcher in the field. The primary objective of the session was to enhance awareness regarding the scope, significance, and practical applications of forensic dentistry in contemporary practice.
During the lecture, Dr Amber comprehensively discussed the role of forensic dentists in societal and legal contexts. She further highlighted the pressing need for the development of this specialty within Pakistan. She outlined pathways for securing international scholarships, thereby encouraging students to pursue advanced education and research opportunities in forensic dentistry abroad.
The session was conducted in a highly professional and interactive manner, and was well-received by the audience. It proved to be an enriching academic experience, offering both theoretical knowledge and practical insight into the evolving field of forensic dentistry.
