Introduction

Human physiology is the science of the mechanical, physical, and biochemical function of humans, and serves as the foundation of modern medicine. As a discipline, it connects science, medicine, and health, and creates a framework for understanding how the human body adapts to stresses, physical activity, and disease.

The mission of the Department of Physiology is to:

Improve learning and education of physiology in an integrative manner with basic medical sciences in medical college.
Enhance and improve research activities as target aim for the staff members and students of BDS First year.
Do our best in instilling virtue, professionalism, and competence in our students.
Provide a working environment based on respect; valuing individual contributions empowering teamwork.

Qualification: MBBS, M.Phil. (Physiology), CHPE

Dr. Ayesha Zafar Rajpoot completed her MBBS from Wah Medical College in 2012 ,followed by an MPhil degree in Physiology from Riphah International University in 2021. During her undergraduate studies, Dr. Ayesha distinguished herself academically, earning distinctions in Physiology and Behavioral Sciences. She was also awarded a gold medal for her outstanding performance during her postgraduate studies in Physiology. She began her teaching career in 2022 as an Assistant Professor at Women Medical College, Abbottabad. With a passion for research and academic excellence, she has published eight research articles in esteemed national and international journals. In February 2023, she joined the faculty of the Dental College at HITEC-IMS. In addition to her academic responsibilities, she also serves as the Patron of the Welfare Society, actively contributing to the college’s community outreach and student welfare initiatives.
