Digital impression, Aligners and IPR in dentistry Workshop
As part of the various workshops arranged periodically, in this institute to improve the knowledge and skills of faculty, graduates, clinicians and house officers, the Department of Orthodontics, in collaboration with Clearpath Aligners, conducted a one-day workshop on ‘’Digital Impression, Aligners and IPR in Dentistry’’ at Dental College, HITEC-IMS on August 29th, 2025. The event started with an encouraging opening address by the Principal, Dental College HITEC-IMS, who appreciated the efforts of the organizers and facilitators in making the workshop successful. This workshop was facilitated by Dr. Nasreen Nagani, a consultant Orthodontist, from Clearpath Orthodontics and Dr. Muhammad Hasnain from the department of Orthodontics, along-with a dedicated team representing Clearpath Orthodontics. Dr Amir Rafiq, Associate Professor and head of Prosthodontics department, shed light on the importance of intra-oral scanners and their applications in planning of dental prostheses. Participants learned case selection criteria, indications and clinical steps involved in digital impressions and clear aligner therapy. These interactive lectures were followed by a hands-on demonstration and practice session on use of intra oral scanners, bonded attachments and inter-proximal reduction (IPR) on models. This was further added by demonstration of digital scanning on a real patient. A total of 28 participants including the Principal Dental College, HITEC-IMS, some senior clinicians of the region, faculty members and young graduates completed the workshop successfully. This event was a great success in promoting knowledge and understanding of clinical applications of digital impressions in dentistry, clear aligner therapy and its adjunctive techniques.
