CME/CPD Career Counselling Seminar
The committee of CME/CPD at the Dental College, HITEC-IMS, successfully organized a career counselling seminar on 12th May 2025, from 9.30 am till 11.30 am which aimed at guiding students towards informed and strategic career planning at both national and international levels in the fields of research, as well as basic and clinical dental sciences.
This two-hour intensive session featured expert insights from distinguished speakers: Dr. Maida Hanif ( BDS, FCPS OMFS, FFDRCSI, MHPE, FDSRCS ENG) Assistant Professor OMFS Foundation University College Of Dentistry Islamabad, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Chaudhary (BDS, MPH, MDPH Malaysia PhD Malaysia) HOD and Associate Professor Community Dentistry, School of Dentistry Islamabad, and Dr. Daniyal Qasim Butt (BDS, Mphil, PhD Student At University Of Malaya, Malaysia) . Each speaker shared their personal journeys of perseverance and achievement, providing valuable perspectives on goal setting, SMART planning, and attaining career objectives in today’s competitive landscape.
The target audience of this seminar were fresh graduates, house officers, demonstrators and registrars. It was highly interactive and well-received, fulfilling its objective of empowering students with the knowledge and tools required to make informed career choices. Key takeaways included guidance on selecting appropriate career paths, utilizing expert resources, building self-confidence, and developing essential employability skills.
In addition to addressing practical strategies for career advancement, the session also tackled common challenges such as frustration and lack of direction. The speakers served as role models, inspiring students to pursue their goals with clarity and determination.
This initiative was thoughtfully designed to promote student well-being and long-term success. By highlighting current job market demands and providing actionable insights, the workshop served as a vital step toward preparing students for future opportunities.
