Beyond the Checklist: Building Better OSCEs at HITEC-IMS
Conducting Effective OSPE/OSCEs — Faculty Development Workshop
Dental College, HITEC-IMS held a faculty development workshop on “Conducting Effective OSPE/OSCEs” on 2 September 2026, drawing 17 faculty members across academic ranks from Demonstrator to Professor.
Facilitated by Dr. Faizan Munir Khan and Dr. Fatima Rizwan, the interactive session covered the fundamentals of assessment, the history and common misconceptions of the OSCE format, and the practical mechanics of station construction — including objective-wise blueprinting and proportionate mark/time allocation. Engagement was supported by live polling (Poll Everywhere) and collaborative discussion (Padlet), with pre- and post-session resources shared via a dedicated WhatsApp group.
The workshop strengthened faculty assessment literacy institution-wide and laid the groundwork for more consistent OSPE/OSCE design in upcoming examination cycles.
