Cleft Lip and Palate Awareness Lecture Organized at Dental College HITEC-IMS
Dental College HITEC-IMS, in collaboration with the Cleft Care Foundation, organized an interactive contact session regarding Cleft Lip and Palate Awareness for house officers, PG trainees and faculty on 28th July 2026 at Dental College HITEC-IMS.
The session aimed to increase awareness among future dental professionals regarding the etiology, early diagnosis, multidisciplinary management, and rehabilitation of patients with cleft lip and palate. Dr. Afeef Umar Zia highlighted the importance of timely intervention, coordinated teamwork, and community awareness in improving functional and aesthetic outcomes for individuals affected by cleft deformities. The lecture also showcased the humanitarian initiatives of the Cleft Care Foundation in providing comprehensive cleft care and supporting underserved communities.
The interactive session encouraged active participation of house officers, PG trainees and faculty who gained valuable insights into the clinical, psychological, and social aspects of cleft care, reinforcing the vital role of dental professionals in the multidisciplinary management of these patients.
The event concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Dental College HITEC-IMS and the Cleft Care Foundation, marking the beginning of a collaborative partnership to promote cleft care, education, research, and community outreach.
