Free Dental Camp
On 20th May, a free dental camp was organized at Scholar Science School as part of the community outreach efforts of HITEC-IMS Dental College. The camp was led by Dr. Maria Rabbani and included a dedicated team of community dentistry department, house officers and second-year BDS students.
The purpose of the camp was to provide free dental checkups and oral health education to schoolchildren. Each student received an oral examination, followed by personalized advice on maintaining oral hygiene. A total of 300 students were provided free dental examination. The team also conducted interactive awareness sessions covering proper brushing techniques, prevention of dental diseases, and the importance of regular dental visits.
Students requiring further dental treatment were referred to HITEC Dental Hospital, Taxila, with treatment offered at discounted rates to ensure continued care.
This initiative not only helped in spreading oral health awareness among young students but also provided valuable field exposure and learning opportunities for the participating dental students and house officers.
Another free dental camp was conducted at Government Girls High School on 21st May as part of HITEC-IMS Dental College’s ongoing community oral health initiative. The camp was supervised by Dr. Maria Rabbani and included a committed team of Community Dentistry department, House officers and Second-year BDS students.
The visit aimed to deliver essential oral healthcare services and promote dental awareness among school-aged girls. More than 400 students received complimentary dental checkups, and the team provided informative sessions on maintaining oral hygiene, correct brushing methods, and the importance of early prevention.
Students identified with dental issues were guided appropriately and referred to Dental Hospital HITEC-IMS, Taxila, where they were offered treatment services at discounted rates.
The camp not only served the local community by improving access to dental care but also offered a valuable learning platform for the participating students, allowing them to apply their knowledge in a real-world setting while developing patient communication and public health skills.
